Fitzpatrick Structural Engineering, P.C. (FSE) strives to provide quality structural engineering services to respected clients in a timely manner. FSE works to understand the needs of a project and to integrate those needs into a practical, economical, and constructible solution.

FSE has over 40 years of experience in the design of steel, wood, concrete, and masonry structures. FSE provides design solutions that embody the latest industry trends and proven technological advances. FSE's background of successfully completed projects include large institutional and commercial buildings, historical restorations and adaptations, water treatment facilities, residential structures, recreational facilities, industrial structures, and low head hydro projects.
Fitzpatrick Structural Engineering, P.C. (FSE) began providing engineering services in September, 1995, under the direction of Thomas Fitzpatrick. In practice since 1965, Tom is widely recognized for his innovative structural designs. Prior to staring FSE, Tom was president of Robert Darvas Associates where he was instrumental in developing the firm’s national reputation. Tom earned a degree in architecture from the University of Michigan and has served as an adjunct professor in the School of Architecture.

Since the firms inception, FSE has successfully completed many projects ranging from complex structural systems for new structures, to restoration and adaptation of existing structures. FSE has provided structural design and engineering on new projects including; Liberty Lofts, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Chelsea Medical Office Building, Chelsea, Michigan; Flint Truck and Bus plant addition, Flint, MI; and Iron Bridge Condominiums, Bay City, MI.

Historic restoration has become a specialty of FSE’s practice. FSE approaches these projects in a thoughtful manner directed towards the preservation of historical character while providing structural integrity for adaptive reuse. FSE has provided structural design and engineering on many preservation and renovation projects including; First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts; U. S. Grant Residence National Historic Site, St. Louis, Missouri; Harry S Truman National Historic Site, Independence, Missouri; South Manitou Island Lighthouse, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Empire, Michigan; University of Michigan Kelsey Museum (Internal expansion), Ann Arbor, Michigan.
